Features
This procedure is preceded by the issuing of a legal demand (see above) and if no satisfaction is received, Intrum Justitia can seek a legal judgment against a debtor on our client’s behalf. A judgment is the acceptance of the legal status of the debt and can be subsequently enforced by publication (Stubbs) or confiscation of goods by the Sheriff etc. It must be noted however that in Dublin a judgment can take up to nine months and outsides Dublin it can take up to six months.
Benefits
A judgment will allow the client to pursue the satisfaction of the debt via legal means such as confiscation of good to the value of the debt. If the balance is sufficient then this procedure is recommended. (Usually balances below €1,000 are not considered for this action) There are NO hidden costs. The price you see is the price you pay!!
